The first party of lights: Saint Michael and the dragon
The Michael feast heralds autumn: nature slowly declines in strength, it hushes. It's getting chilly, the days are getting shorter, it is dark earlier.
The Michael Feast is the first festival of lights in a long line. Each festival of lights has its own quality and always gives us a new challenge to think about the content of life.
The feast of Michael is about the “conflict “that we often have to implement in our lives. This can be on many different fronts…. It can be about very small things, but sometimes we also encounter bigger problems on our life path.
It is a story about strength and courage – about defeating the dragon, as a symbol for 'evil'. During our annual celebration we depicted this beautiful story – Frank was a very convincing Michael/Joris, and the dragon was utterly defeated.
