The nativity performance: Titurel a tradition.
Already in the autumn, the residents, counselors and volunteers started the first preparations for the Christmas. Which songs we will sing? Who plays the role of Mary, Jozef, shepherd, worth, angel…? The garments are made and appropriate. Drawings are made, practiced songs, learned texts.
In short: before the script was created and the nativity booklets with lyrics and the beautiful drawings are delivered, There is a lot of work. And just as important: made a lot of fun.
Last Friday, 19 December,, annual tradition, staged the Christmas. After the meeting in the great hall all visitors were warmly welcomed by Peer. Then gave Mary and Joseph, the angels, the shepherds and the values singing launched a stunning performance.
The Christmas this year was staged in and around the premises of Titurel. In the chapel made the angels for a peaceful (I)rhythmic dance performance. Then a nice walk through the woods, where we met the shepherds and the values. The residents properly reflected beautiful songs and invited us out regularly to sing along with them.
We walked further than, towards the Cluse, where Joseph and Mary, angels and shepherds were waiting for us in the stable. Again, we enjoyed lovely carols. In Cluse we could warm ourselves with a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate and a visit to the shop where beautiful – by the residents homemade – (Christmas)gifts were displayed.
After the retreat we were surprised by a sandwich buffet, tasty soup and homemade pizza.
Finally, there were many compliments for the residents and for the commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers, that behind the scenes’ do so much for Titurel. Alderman Lars van der Beek took some word, he put the residents in the limelight and expressed appreciation for the beautiful design and the buzz that he experiences on Titurel. Of course there was an opportunity to relax and talk and exchanged many good wishes.
We wish you well, on behalf of residents, management and staff, lovely days!
